Thomas’s Road Bike

Thomas is the proud owner of the very first bike I ever sold, a steel allroad. He’s back for more with a new road bike. The tubing mix includes True Temper S3 top and down tube, OX platinum 31.8mm seat tube instead of the 28.6 S3 unit. Columbus Life s bend chainstays and hand bent True Temper seatstays. Thomas ordered a complete bike that includes the new Sram Red, hand laced Chris King wheelset, and an Enve 1.0 fork. Thomas has been working hard on the paint scheme. I’m excited to see the finished product. Thanks again Thomas!

Lori’s Allroad

Lori’s bike is headed out to Erie, PA. She will be building it up with some classic looking Campy Athena. I look forward to seeing the completed pictures.

Duke’s New Hardtail

Duke is official leading the “Alliance Bicycle’s fan boi club”. This is his third bike from me. It’s a steel hardtail with aggressive geometry and some big pipes. Duke gives me a lot of freedom on his bikes in design, material selection, and paint. I set out to build him a fun hardtail that was nice and stiff as Duke likes to stand while climbing. The bike is also designed to rip downhill because the trails in Bozeman are flowy and fast. I used a 120mm fork and clearance for 2.4″ tires as most of them are fairly rocky too. The headtube is slack, the chainstays are short, and the seattube angle and toptube length put proper weight on the front wheel for climbing (no excuses for not cleaning the headwalls climbing up the singletrack of Garnet Duke!). When I first started riding with Duke, he always wore the same red Pearl Izumi jersey. Luckly Duke now owns more than one jersey. I painted his bike as a tribute to that old jersey. I like to do matte clearcoats on mountain bikes because they are more durable. I also added some thin bands to the seattube to add a bit of color to the area.

Matt’s All-arounder

Matt’s new bike has a laundry list of features on it. Tapered steer tube, disc brakes, room for 35c tires with fender mounts front and rear, Paragon low mount dropouts, S-bend seatstays, Wiskey Parts carbon disc fork, and a Columbus Life tubeset with some big diameter tubes. Matt will be painting the frame and the fork in a nice blue color with the classic logo.

Jomyr’s Titanium Allroad and Another 29er

Jomyr ordered up a titanium allroad with one of my steel unicrown forks. Spectrum is going to be painting the fork to match the media blasted frame. It should be a very cohesive bike once it’s all built up. Today I also put the finishing touches on another steel 29er hardtail. I’ll post some pictures when these bikes get back from paint.

New Sram Red Pricing and Ui2

I updated my kit pricing for the new (as in just released) Sram Red. The old stuff will still be available for awhile if you had your heart set on that kit. I’ve also added a Shimano Ultegra Ui2 Kit that gets you electronic shifting for less than my mechanical Dura-Ace group.

JC’s Coupled 29er

JC needed a bike that he could fit inside his personal airplane. It’s an old vintage plane from the 40′s that he restored. His bike should serve him well wherever his plane ends up taking him. The bike is designed around a Fox Talas fork and will be built up with Shimano XT and a pair of hand laced wheels.

Ian’s Bike Back from Paint

Ian’s bike has some cool matte logos on gloss clear pale turquoise. I added the anodized black crown and dropouts to his Wound Up fork to keep with the theme. Ian will be building the bike up with mostly Sram Rival. I hope it serves him well on rainy rides in his hometown of Portland. Thanks Ian!

Rick’s 29er

Rick’s bike is heading out to Wisconsin today. Rick had some fun with the paint on this one, and I think the digital transition between the two colors looks really cool. Rick is building the bike up with Sram X0 and a Rock Shox SID fork. Make sure to send ride photos Rick!

Rahul’s Steel Travel Bike

Rahul ordered an all steel road bike built to handle bigger tires and fenders for his hometown of Oakland, CA. He also added in S&S stainless couplers for quick breakdown while traveling. I will be building the bike up with a Sram Force group. Rahul upgraded his wheels to White Industries hubs, Hed Belguim rims, and DT Aerolite spokes.
