I’m having a sale on road bikes this month as a sort of kick off for NAHBS. Frame Pricing will also be going up after the show, so now is the time to put in an order for Spring delivery. I’m going to offer a limited number of spots for road bikes that will be delivered no later than April 1st. Sale pricing will be offered until March 5th or until all spots have been filled. The sale includes your choice of frame material, an Enve 2.0 fork, and a Chris King headset in any color. All of my a la cart options will be available at the regular price, so you can add s-bend seatstays, pressfit30 bottom bracket, etc. You can also upgrade to an Enve 1.0 fork for $125

29ers and other Updates

This week I’ve been working on a couple of 29ers for Nahbs. The first one is steel and also has a 100mm x 0 degree stem.

The second one is titanium

The steel bike is designed around a Fox Talas 120mm/95mm fork. It has a 34.9mm tt, 42mm dt, 31.8mm st, 22.2mm round chainstays, and 16mm seatstays. The unsagged headtube angle is 68.6 degrees at the full 120mm fork setting. The chainstays are 431mm actual/426 effective with 56mm of bottom bracket drop. The titanium bike is designed around a Fox F29 100mm fork. It built with a 34.9 tt, 44.5mm dt, 31.8mm st, 22.2mm chainstays, and 19mm seatstays. Geo highlights are 70.5 headtube angle, 74 seattube, 435mm chainstays, and 60mm of bb drop

Both bikes have 44mm headtubes for tapered steerers. Pretty much status quo around this shop on mountain bikes.

Rafael’s wheels are ready to go. I love what the wider rims do for tire volume!

Chris’s bike has a sweet mix of tubing and a sweet paint job done by Spectrum Powderworks. Columbus Max front triangle and OX Platinum rear with a ska/punk paint scheme. This bike will be built with Ultegra and make it’s trip out to Nahbs with me. Chris’s lives just a few hours from Sacramento so he will pick it up at the show.

Rafael’s S3 Road Bike

Rafael’s road bike is back from paint. The guys at Coat laid down an beautiful liquid paint job with classic panels and crisp painted logos. Rafael also ordered a new set of wheels that will be done later this week. He selected a pair of Velocity A23′s laced to Shimano Dura-Ace hubs with DT aerolites and alloy nipples. He will be building the bike up with Sram Red. I look forward to hearing some ride impression and seeing the finished product.

Curtis’s Titanium Cruiser

I received Curtis’s bike back from Spectrum today. I finished building his wheels (3 speed coaster brake rear hub baby!) and hung the parts on the frame. The frame is titanium and the fork is lugged steel. The color is Midnight Blue with bone white and silver logos.

Chris’s Max Road Bike

Ok so not every tube is Columbus Max. I cherry picked the good ones, the top and the down tube. The seat tube, seatstays, and chainstays are ox platinum. I used a pair of 20 x 28 oval chainstays with a thicker wall for some nice pop out of the saddle. The Max chainstays are too tall, skinny, and thin walled for my taste. The headtube is an 1-1/8″ instead of the original 1″ unit. The fork features the more common 28mm x 20mm oval blades and a sloping crown.

Jeff’s Double Butted Ti Road Bike

Jeff’s bike is a tried and true road frame designed with climbing in mind. It features a double butted front triangle to scrub weight. We selected s-bend chain and seatstays with a slight slope in the toptube (6 degrees) for a modern look. I also bi-ovalized the downtube and ovalized the toptube to keep with the theme. Jeff is outfitting the bike with Campy Super Record, Enve 25 wheelset, and an Enve 1.0 fork. I’m hoping it meets the UCI weight limit all said and done.

Rafael’s bike features an S3 tubeset, stainless hooded dropouts, and internal brake routing. I use a brass sleeve so you don’t have to go fishing to get a cable through the other end.
