What can I say? I love them…….

First up is a long reach brake version. I was going for classic from start to finish on this one. Nothing fancy here; threaded bb, standard headtube, 27.2mm seatpost, long reach brakes, fastback chain and seatstays, and the smooth ride of titanium in medium sized diameters.

I finished it off with Campagnolo’s beautifully revised Athena kit, Grand Cru brakes, Wound Up fork, Cane Creek 110 headset, and a pair of titanium King cages. I was also able to track down the older black logo Ritchey classic stem/post as it matches the Athena parts perfectly. A pair of DT 350/Velocity A23 wheels setup tubeless with Huchinson cross tires keeps this thing rolling. The cherry on top is a sterling silver head badge set against a hand brushed finish.

Next is a design that uses a cyclocross fork and mini-v brakes. This style has the potential for more tire clearance if you need it.

I also make this style of bike using disc brakes. This is becoming the more popular route, but I still love the rim brake version. Heck, I’ll take one of each!

Hi All,

I started an Instagram account a few months back as another option to display my work. I’ve mostly been using Facebook and Flickr as visual outlets for the bikes going out the door. However, I realize not everyone is on facebook and flickr isn’t as convenient for day to day use.

I will continue to update the news section here, but at a slower pace. Only finished bikes and major news will be added here, rather than shop photos, customer photos, component highlights, etc that can be found on the other platforms. My busiest time is just around the corner. As you can imagine, most people ording bikes want them by the early spring. My current leadtime is 14-15 weeks and things are not slowing down here. That puts deliver around early March.

Some really great bikes have been leaving the shop.  Here’s a look at a few of them.

Reed’s Allroad is also going to California. It features a double butted Reynolds tubeset, three color liquid paint by Keith Anderson, and a painted to match Seven long reach carbon fork. The bike is built with 2015 Campy Chorus with a pressfit 30 crank and ceramic bearings. Challenge paris roubaix tires are mounted onto a pair of King R45/Enve 25 wheels. A carbon Ritchey handlebar, 3T stem, and one of my titanium seatposts tops it all off.

Steve’s trail 29er is headed out to California. Sram XX1, a Rockshox 120mm Pike, KS Lev dropper, 785mm carbon bar/40mm stem insure this thing will rip.

Ted’s bike is on the way to Massachusetts.

This is going to be a fun bike to ride! It’s a 27.5″ full suspension with 155mm of travel out back and a 160mm Rockshox Pike up front. Sram XX1 and RaceFace Next cranks turn a set of Enve M60 wheels with Schwable Magic Mary and Hans Dampf tires. A set of Hope X2’s brakes with Shimano Freeza 203mm/180mm rotors put the clamp on when you really get cooking. a slack head angle and long front center boost confidence, but the 428mm chainstays make it easy to maneuver. The bike came in at 27lbs 6oz with a bottle cage and XTR pedals.

I shipped Josh’s new bike out last week. He’ll be using it mostly for training and riding dirt roads. The bike is currently set up with CX1 for racing cross. The frame uses a mix of Columbus Max, Life, and True Temper tubing. Internal rear brake, s bend seatstays, and headtube rings were added to the frame.

Josh picked the base color of Sky blue and then gave me permission to do whatever colors and layout I wanted. I knew that a classic set of white panels would really make the blue look timeless. Red logos outlined in silver jump off the two main colors far more than my photo skills can capture. This bike also uses my new font option. I spiced up the transition bands for some added detail. I bet all those thin lines were tough to paint, sorry Spectrum! A pearl top coat finishes it all off.

Kent’s bike is headed off to Colorado this week.  I call this style of mountain bike a trail hardtail.  It has slack and modern geometry like a 68 degree head angle/51mm offset fork for a long front center, but light steering feel, short chainstays, low bb, 60mm stem, and a 785mm bar.  It also uses a 120mm Pike and stout tubing to keep up with the lines the bike will make you want to take.  It’s not a cross country bike because it’s more capable than that, but it hardly carries a weight penitaly other than the heavier front tire (2.35 Hans Dampf).  It’s not an all mountian hardtail either, both the frame and the parts kit are too light for that category.  I’ve also adjusted the fit and seating position for great climbing and not completely biased toward downhilling. Basically, this bike is for riding any sort of singletrack trail, hence the name.  The frame on this particular bike was 3.4lbs

Kent selected my Shimano XT kit and swapped out the brakes for Hope Race x2s, the handlebar for a 785mm RaceFace carbon sixc, and changed the seatpost and seat for a titanium post with a ti railed Gobi.  I also added a Hope seat quick release so Kent can drop his seat for the downhills.  Dropper seatposts are an obvious choice here, but Kent wanted maximum ride comfort from the flexy ti post.  He plans to do a bit of bike packing and needs the comfort for those long outings.  I currently have a dropper post on my hardtail, but I rode the ti post/seat quick release combo for years to get that silky ride.  Dropping the seat manually just isn’t that hard and it does reduce one moving part.  I can attest to that, as I’ve had to send my dropper back due to a faulty cartridge twice this year.  With all that being said, Kent did opt for a 30.9mm seattube for future compatibility with dropper posts.  He also upgraded the hubs on his Arch EX wheels to DT 240s.  A hand brushed finish, a copper headbadge, and some black decals finish off the package.
