Race Day Steel road frame available – Size 57.5cm:

Columbus Spirit Frameset Available for Purchase

I have a Race Day steel road frame available.   If you are interested, please get in touch at erik@alliancebicycles.com

Full details can be found by clicking on the project bike tab.

This frame is built using the rarely seen Columbus Spirit.  It’s the version that I some what jokingly refer to as Spirit for TIG.  The tubeset is beautifully shaped with multi faceted ovalization.  The shaping is hard to describe, but it’s a very unique and special tubeset.  The ride is smooth due to the thin tube walls, but the large diameters keep the frame from being unresponsive.

The geometry is based around my classic stage race road numbers.  The bb is kept very low for great corning grip and confidence.  The chainstays get pushed out just a bit to balance the shortening effect of dropping the bb down.  The CS length is also matched to the front center length for proper weight distribution.  The headtube is a bit taller for less spacer stack under the stem.

This frame will easily clear 28mm tires, the limiting factor is actually the fork.  Enve forks will clear a 28mm as well, but that’s about it.  There is crank clearance for compact or mid compact cranks.

Regular price for this frameset is $2,875 (Race Day Steel frame is $2,150, Enve Fork $390, Painted fork $125, Cast Badge $60, Cane Creek 110 Headset $150).  Sale Price $1,550
