Gary’s Trail 29er:

Gary went for the complete package when he ordered his bike. He lives in Carson City, Nevada, but made the trip to Ketchum to have his fitting done. I also had the chance to take him out on a few rides. Since Gary and I are about the same size, he test rode my hardtail. Gary contacted me in the spring as he was looking to add an aggressive hardtail that would compliment his full suspension bike (Transition Covert). He knew he wanted 29″ wheels and a longer travel fork combined with modern geometry. He envisioned riding the bike after work on the local trail network and a few trips on the weekends. Gary’s new bike uses my XT kit with a Fox 120mm fork. Kit substitutions include Hope Race X2 brakes, Race Face sixc 785mm handlebar, KS Lev dropper post, and DT Swisss 240/Stan’s Arch EX wheels. He also added a pair of Time carbon pedals to complete the build. The bike as shown came in at 25.8 pounds.
